We recently had travel writer Shelly Rivoli come and stay at two of our villas. Here is the first review of hers about Casa Vista. We hope it gives you a good flavour for coming to our little part of Costa Rica and the second one about Blue Batik is to follow shortly.

A Unique Experience For Our Guests

This season we recently added a really special dining experience for our guests at Costa Rican Vacation – a candlelit BBQ dinner on the beach, under the stars. It was something that my husband dreamt up a while back that we only got to put into practice for his 40th birthday. We had some very dear friends come and stay with us who wanted to put a dinner on for Jeremy (my husband) and this was the perfect opportunity to try the experience for ourselves.

Costa Rica National Parks

Costa Rica pretty much created the term ‘eco-travel’. This was born out of a combination of a few things but mainly its revolutionary national parks system created back in the 1970’s and then winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1987 for brokering an agreement among troubled Central American countries to promote democracy and end civil strife.

Costa Rica national parts or the National Conservation Areas systems (SINAC) is vast and covers approximately 30% of Costa Rica’s landmass including 32 national parks, eight biological reserves, 13 forest reserves and 51 wildlife refuges.

There are too many parks to write about here but I thought I would pick my favourite three. Manuel Antonio, Arenal and Cabo Blanco.
